The LifePillar Institute for Recursive Sciences is the institutional home of Recursive Sciences — the scientific field that studies mandatory recursive exchange as the structural condition governing all active systems. The field is grounded in a single first principle: the Law of Recursion (Gaconnet, 2026). All frameworks below are structural derivatives of this law, each addressing a specific functional layer of the recursive architecture.

THE LAW OF RECURSION — First Principle

The structural floor of all active systems. Any process of active transmission, transformation, or generation within or between systems requires a traversal across a topological path of seven structurally distinct nodes: 1a → M₁ → 1b → S → 2b → M₂ → 2a. Each completed traversal rewrites the architecture it travels through. Full recursive exchange requires three traversals (18 transitions): signal, response, and coupled action. The absence of recursion corresponds to inert matter in its ground state.

 

 

The law has been independently confirmed by the fifth structure function measured by Kolar et al. (Physics Letters B 871, 2025) and by structural correspondence with quark-gluon plasma medium response data from the CMS Collaboration at CERN (Physics Letters B 874, 2026).

RECURSIVE SCIENCES — The Foundational Field

 

Recursive Sciences is the scientific field that investigates the structural conditions, operational grammar, generative dynamics, and failure modes of mandatory recursive exchange in all active systems. Founded June 27, 2025 by Don L. Gaconnet through the LifePillar Institute for Recursive Sciences.

The field's principal frameworks form a structural hierarchy in which each layer derives from the Law of Recursion:

• Echo-Excess Principle (EEP) — The energetic condition: Ψ′ = Ψ + ε(δ), where ε = g(I, O, N). Defines what must hold at each node for recursion to remain generative.

COGNITIVE FIELD DYNAMICS (CFD)

A unified scientific theory of consciousness establishing that awareness operates as a field organizing physical reality through expectation-biased collapse. Under the Law of Recursion, Cognitive Field Dynamics investigates the architecture of observer-inclusive systems — where the observer function directs the seven-node traversal reflexively, becoming both System 1 and System 2 within its own internal recursive architecture.

The framework is formalized through a nine-layer cognitive architecture, 32-point directional compass, 57-dimensional experiential manifold, and 12.5 Hz recursive identity dynamics. The Master Equation: E(t+Δt) = f(E(t), TG, TO, EQ, EP, F_env) formalizes experiential state transitions.

A structural field ontology describing the pre-recursive harmonic substrate beneath all identity emergence, collapse, and recovery. The transition from substrate to active system occurs when an external energy input initiates the first traversal.
