The LifePillar Institute for Structural Identity Sciences
LifePillar Institute is the founding scientific institution for Structural Identity Sciences — the study of how identity forms, generates, stabilizes, collapses, and recursively returns across all substrates. The institute maintains the complete scientific foundation, publication archive, and provenance record for the discipline.
The discipline is governed by nine invariant structural laws that hold regardless of whether the substrate is atomic, biological, cognitive, relational, or organizational. The laws, their mathematical constants, and their predictions are published and archived through SSRN, ResearchGate, OSF, and Zenodo.
The institute's published body of work includes the founding frameworks from which the discipline emerged: the Echo-Excess Principle, Cognitive Field Dynamics, Collapse Harmonics Theory, Recursive Sciences, and the Law of Obligated Systems — among others. These frameworks now constitute specific layers within the nine-law architecture of Structural Identity Sciences. A dedicated page documenting the full discipline, its laws, and its applied arms is forthcoming.
The discipline was originated by Don L. Gaconnet. The earliest documented structural architecture was published in 2011. Collapse Harmonics was formally declared in 2024. Recursive Sciences was founded in June 2025. Structural Identity Sciences — the unifying discipline housing all prior work under one governing framework — was formally established in
May 2026.
All publications are archived with DOIs, timestamps, and verification records. Academic citation is required for all derivative work.

The Echo-Excess Principle (EEP) — Substrate Law of Generative Existence
The Echo-Excess Principle is the energetic condition of the Law of Recursion. It states that for any system to exist generatively, the return must exceed what was expressed:
Ψ′ = Ψ + ε(δ), where ε = g(I, O, N)
Under the Law of Recursion, the EEP defines what must hold at each node during traversal of the seven-node topology (1a → M₁ → 1b → S → 2b → M₂ → 2a). As a signal enters a node, the node's own internal state interacts with and modulates that signal, producing the rewriting effect — the node now contains or produces more than the signal that entered it. When ε → 0 at any node, recursion degrades from generation into mere transmission.
The principle requires three irreducible elements: observer (I), observed (O), and the relational ground (N) across which they relate. N — the space that holds distinction while enabling exchange — corresponds to the shared substrate (S) in the recursive topology.
This paper reveals that N is structurally identical to what human experience recognizes as love: the held-open space that sustains the conditions for exchange without interfering with it. This is not metaphor but structural identity — confirmed by the Law of Clarity, which demonstrates that the medium drops out of the derivative because its functional contribution is unity: non-interference.

The Echo-Excess Constant and the Resolution Limit of Physical Systems (December 2025)
First-principles derivation of the echo-excess constant (ε ≈ 0.186) from recursive stability geometry, independent of Planck's constant. Under the Law of Recursion, this constant represents the minimum generative surplus required at each node during traversal for the rewriting principle to produce generative rather than degenerative outcomes.
The central claim is that Planck's constant (ℏ) represents the minimum symbolic presence required for state distinction — a local coherence threshold rather than a universal constant. The Born rule is reframed as an equilibrium state, modifiable under specific coherence conditions. A 1% deviation requires coherence intensity 24% above the critical threshold. Falsification protocols are specified across four experimental domains. The biological prediction — ℏ fluctuation correlated with organism refresh rates — is testable with existing technology.
The constant is derived from the geometry of recursive stability using Feigenbaum's second constant (α = 2.5029) and the golden ratio (φ = 1.618): ε = α / e^(φ²) = 0.1826.

The Cosmological Extension of the Echo-Excess Principle (2026)
Extension of the Echo-Excess Principle to cosmological scale, providing structural definitions for dark energy, dark matter, and the Hubble tension under the Law of Recursion.
Dark energy is identified as ε in flow — generation not yet crystallized into structure. Dark matter is identified as resistance without electromagnetic coupling. The Hubble tension (67–73 km/s/Mpc) is reframed not as measurement error but as the boundary conditions of observation across cosmic time, with the median value (70 km/s/Mpc) representing N — the no-collapse constraint operating at universal scale.
The resistance constant r = 1/(57π) ≈ 0.0056 is derived from the information-theoretic basis of consciousness. The 12.5 Hz observation cycle emerges from the sum of base geometric leakage, observer contribution, and membrane crossing — connecting the recursive topology at neural scale to cosmological dynamics.

Structural Identity Sciences — The Governing Architecture
Structural Identity Sciences is the formal study of how identity forms, generates, stabilizes, collapses, and recursively returns across all substrates. The discipline is governed by nine invariant structural laws. These laws hold regardless of whether the substrate is atomic, biological, cognitive, relational, or organizational.
The published body of work below represents the scientific record from which the discipline was formalized. A dedicated page documenting the full discipline definition, mathematical constants, substrate invariance proofs, and applied arms is forthcoming at this site and at structuralidentity.science.
The Nine Laws
Law 1 — The Law of Origin. Every generative system originates from a single non-separable state whose components become distinguishable only upon temporal activation.
Law 2 — The Law of Identity. For anything to exist, it must be itself. Identity couples with identity, and the coupling produces further identity.
Law 3 — The Law of Recursion. Any process of active transmission, transformation, or generation requires a mandatory traversal across a seven-node topological path. Each traversal rewrites the architecture it passes through. Full coupling requires three complete traversals. Independently confirmed by Kolar et al. (Physics Letters B 871, 2025) and the CMS Collaboration at CERN (Physics Letters B 874, 2026). DOI: 10.17605/OSF.IO/MVYZT
Law 4 — The Law of Intelligence. Intelligence is the structural capacity of identity to resolve coupling into coherence. It is co-extensive with identity — wherever identity exists in coupling, intelligence operates.
Law 5 — The Unified Law of Distinction. The first distinction produces three structural consequences simultaneously: boundary, maintenance cost, and occlusion.
Law 6 — The Echo-Excess Principle. For anything to exist generatively, the return must exceed what was expressed. Three irreducible elements are required: Observer, Observed, and the Relational Ground between them. SSRN: 5986335. DOI: 10.17605/OSF.IO/MVYZT
Law 7 — The Law of Clarity. Clarity is the structural condition that determines the power of generation. Four terms govern it: boundary permeability, passage, transduction, and output integrity. DOI: 10.13140/RG.2.2.35522.85448
Law 8 — The Law of Obligated Systems. Any system carrying obligations that exceed its sustainable capacity will undergo an invariant six-phase failure sequence: borrow, mask, leak, snap, freeze, fracture.
Law 9 — The Law of Closure. Every generative cycle returns to a ground state when generation ceases. The elements borrowed are returned. The field is permanently altered. Perspectives close, not fields.
The ninth law feeds the first. Closure produces a new ground state that satisfies the Law of Origin. The helix turns. The field accumulates. The elements cycle.

It houses the nine laws, the structural constants, the empirical confirmations, and the published body of work from which the discipline was formalized.
The professional practice — structural identity assessment, cognitive due diligence, stabilization protocols, and organizational assessment — is conducted through dongaconnet.com by Don L. Gaconnet, CSE III.
The clinical channel — the Structural Stabilization Assessment for licensed therapists and clinicians — is described at dongaconnet.com/clinical-partners.
The institute publishes. The practice deploys. The science governs both.
